Comments about Howard Miller Sonoma Bar:
Very pleased with my purchase overall. The cabinet is beautiful, sturdy, designed well, fits perfectly where I wanted it to! Love that you can lock up the cabinet to keep kids out and close it when not in use. Also love the mirror on the back, the light, the inside plugs too. I thought I'd have trouble putting my fostoria antique wine glasses in the top rack, but every glass I put into it fit quite well! Only design flaw is that since my drink of choice is vodka and I buy it in large bottles, they do not fit upright on the lower shelf or on the doors. They only fit on the main prep surface. Too bad the lower section isn't an inch or two taller. I suppose that's to keep the work surface at the right height. The work surface is wood, so I'm a little nervous that this will get damaged but it does look beautiful. The top of the pull out drawers are not wood, some sort of plastic, so this might work good. Might have to get one of those thin cutting surfaces to place on top of the wood. Not sure until we use it some.I can't believe all the places I had bottles of wine, spirits, mixers, openers, flasks, glassware, etc. Got this cabinet to have it all in one place and be able to see what I have or need. I think it will accomplish this. Have a party coming up and can't wait to use it! [...]

This was a birthday gift for my husband. He loves being able to bartend from the dining room; I love that when it is closed it is simply a beautiful piece of furniture - a fantastic addition to our home.

Beautiful piece that fits seamlessly into any room. It doesn't look like a bar but more a high end furniture piece. Very, very pleased with the purchase!

Comments about Howard Miller Sonoma Bar:
This is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I was a little reluctant to get it given that it's a little bit pricey but I'm glad I did. It's heavy, you'll need help getting it located but that's good thing as the entire thing is very solid and will hold up well.[...].The interior light and the interior power strip have their own plugs. I would have liked to have a single electrical line to the unit that runs both. If you can park it in front of an outlet you'll never notice though. The doors are very heavy and solid. They hold up well fully loaded. Another thing to check is the spring door latches at the top and bottom. One of mine was bent because the unit was shipped on its back and the doors clearly bounced open and shut. A replacement latch roller was [$] at home depot. The top shelf in each door is sized to hold small scotch glasses and not much else, but that worked out well for me.The top of the unit is finished and flat with the top edge of the moulding so you can display things on top and they're not sunken down below the moulding. This was a nice surprise.Bottle storage in the bottom is ample. I have all the wine slots filled and the loose bottle shelf packed pretty full (until the evening before I took the pics :-). There are several slots in the wine storage that won't hold a bottle but work well for storing cleaning tools. A nice touch would be to add a light to the open bottle storage below. I can get all but the largest of bottles on the shelf, the super size Baileys and Malibu have to go in the main compartment. The drawers are functional. Not the smoothest slides around but they work ok. You can set large full bottles on them without worry. They each have flip up covers that make them nice to use as work space but the tops won't flip up far enough to stay up by themselves so you'll have to use 2 hands any time you want something in one of the drawers. I think it's good to have the drawers but if there were an area for improvement it would be here. There's a small item compartment at the top left that I have filled up but I would have rather had the space available for hanging glasses. There's still plenty of room in the drawers for trinkets. The depth can limit glass storage. I can only get 3 Pinot/Cabernet glasses in one slot but glasses for white will go 4 deep. I have a separate cabinet for glasses and use this unit for the more common ones. It's rare that I don't go to the other cabinet for that one extra glass (losing the little cubby or at least downsizing it would have helped here).Knowing what I do now about the unit I would not hesitate to purchase it again. Craftsmanship is excellent, the unit is heavy, solid and very functional. Everyone will see clearly that it is a solid piece of furniture and not some press-board cabinet.
